Oklahoma City is a tourist wonderland.  From its National Cowboy Western Heritage Museum to its Myriad Botanical Gardens, Oklahoma City has it all.  Yet, by providing a wide array of mental health services, this grand city hasn’t forgotten about its residents. 

Chance to Change Foundation

The Chance to Change Foundation provides education, prevention, and counseling services to individuals who have been affected by chemical dependency and health disorders.  The foundation was founded in 1979 and was the first adolescent treatment center in Oklahoma.  Today, it serves individuals of all ages who need assistance with addiction and mental health disorders.

Integris Health

Integris health is Oklahoma’s biggest non-profit health care organization.  The health system provides several services throughout the state, with its primary facility located in Oklahoma City.  Among its facilities and agencies are:

Integris mental health facilities offer programs fro children, adolescents, and adults – including geriatric inpatient services.  The philosophy of Integris is to provide affordable and convenient mental health care for all of Oklahoma City, as well as throughout the state.

NAMI Oklahoma

The mission of NAMI Oklahoma is “to improve the quality of life for children, adults, and their families who are affected with a mental illness.”  NAMI Oklahoma does this through:

NAMI Oklahoma has also created the Hope for Tomorrow program.  This program provides mental health information and life skills training to educators, parents, and students.  This is accomplished through teacher in-service training, student assemblies, community forums, and brochures.

NAMI Oklahoma also sponsors the In Our Own Voice:  Living with Mental Illness program.  This is a presentation designed to give family members, friends, and others valuable insight into how people with mental health disorders cope with their illness. 

Red Rock Behavioral Health Services

Red Rock Behavioral Health Services was federally certified as a comprehensive mental health center in 1979.  It is a private, non-profit mental health organization that is governed by the Oklahoma Mental Health Council.  It services children, youth, and adults.

Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services was created as a result of the Mental Health Law of 1953.  Currently, it assists people suffering from mental illness.  It also assists individuals coping with substance abuse, domestic violence, and the effects of sexual assault.
